Let’s Move for Camp

Camp Moves Me is back! Every November, the Foley Family comes together to move, have a little fun, and raise money to support Camp Foley.

Whether you are walking, running, biking, swimming, hiking, doing pushups, or coming up with your own creative challenge, there are so many ways to get moving for Foley.

What is Camp Moves Me?

Camp Moves Me is our annual fundraiser that brings the Foley Family together for a month of movement, fundraising, and fun. Participants spend the month of November moving in whatever way works for them. Run, walk, bike, swim, hike, kayak, frolf, do pushups, walk the dog, or come up with your own challenge. Then, ask family and friends to support your efforts!

Camp Moves Me is about more than miles or fundraising goals. It is a chance to share what Camp Foley means to you, reconnect with the Foley community, and help support the future of camp. In the past, Camp Moves Me donations went directly toward camper scholarships. As a nonprofit organization, Camp Foley now has the opportunity to use these funds where they can have the greatest impact on our mission and the camp community. 

Every dollar makes a difference, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.

Two ways to help!

1. Donate

You can choose a specific Camp Moves Me participant to support or make a general donation to the campaign. If you know someone who is dedicating their November to moving for Camp, consider donating directly to their campaign. Your support gives them a little extra motivation to keep moving and helps them reach their fundraising goal!

Whether you donate $10, $50, $100, or more, your support helps Camp Foley continue doing what we do best: creating meaningful camp experiences for kids. Camp Foley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and donations made through Zeffy are 100% tax deductible. You will receive a receipt upon completion of your donation. 

2. Participate in Camp Moves Me

Participating in Camp Moves Me is a fun way to share what Camp Foley means to you while helping support the future of camp. You can pledge to move in so many different ways. Run, walk, swim, bike, frolf, stroll, work out, walk the dog, or dream up your own challenge!

Set a movement goal that feels right for you. Maybe you want to walk 20 miles throughout November. Maybe you want to do 30 pushups every day. Maybe you want to try a different activity every week. There is no one right way to move for Camp. Pick a challenge that is fun, personal, and easy for you to keep track of. Then think how you will spread the word about your campaign. Creating ways to update friends and family on your progress and sharing your personal donation link is a very important part of the process. 

Your fundraising goal is up to you, too. Participants who raise $350 or more will earn a Camp Moves Me Pin for their Foley lanyard!

In order to sign up as a participant, follow the steps below:

• Follow the link to participate and raise money for Camp Moves Me – Participate here!
• Click the “Fundraise” Button in the box that says I want to help Fundraise

• Fill out the information fields and set a Fundraising Goal! Campers who raise $350 or more will earn the Camp Moves Me Pin this summer. You can add a profile picture now or wait and do it later. When complete click “Complete Campaign”
• Zeffy will create your personal Fundraising Page. A shareable link will be created for you to share with friends and family to help reach your fundraising goal. Your webpage will be created with a message from Camp Foley, we encourage you to personalize it and let the Foley Family know how YOU are moving for Camp.
• To edit your Fundraising Message, head to the top right corner and locate the buttons “Edit Campaign” and “Copy Share Link”. Click on “Edit Campaign”
• You can update your name, goals, and campaign description in general information. Tell donors about your connection to Foley, how you will be moving for Camp, and what raising Money for the Camp Foley Scholarship Fund means to you. The more unique and personal the message… the better!
• Click on “Customization” at the top of the page. Here is where you can choose the theme and colors for your campaign. It’s a good idea to upload a picture of yourself (maybe in some Foley gear!) so your donors can find your profile. Feel free to upload your own banner as well. We provided an email for you to use as a response to donors who donate to you, it can also be personalized if you would like. 
• Don’t worry about “Advanced Settings”, the Camp Foley Admin have set up the rest of the campaign on the main Fundraising Page. Click “View my Campaign” to save and see the changes to your page. 

The last step is to spread the WORD – This is where the fun really begins!

Share your fundraising link with your family, friends, coworkers, Foley friends, and anyone else who might want to cheer you on. Keep your donors updated throughout November by sharing your progress, posting photos, and letting people know how your challenge is going. You can share updates daily, weekly, or whenever inspiration strikes. The more you share, the more people get to be part of your Camp Moves Me journey!
