We have a great team here at Foley!
Many different people on the Foley team work together to make sure each camper has a great experience. We want to break down the exact people who will be part of you or your camper’s support system this summer. We hope knowing specifically who is here to help your camper will relieve some pre-camp worries and help set up the first day of camp for success!
Find out who is on your team…
Counselors
The obvious first part of your Foley team is your counselors! This means the two or three cabin counselors you will have living in your cabin with you for the entire two or three week session. These counselors, along with your cabnimates, will become like your camp family as the session goes along, and you will inevitably get to know these counselors very well and rely on them to help you with many things. They are here to help with any concerns in the cabin or with camp living. Having an issue with a bunkmate, having trouble sleeping or feeling a bit homesick, these are the perfect people to seek out first.
Now before we move on, a note on counselors… it will not just be your cabin counselors who are “part of your team”. All the counselors at Camp Foley will be! While they might not live in your cabin with you, all Foley staff are here to help you and you’ll meet all of them throughout the session at different activities and camp programs. You may sit with different counselors at meals and see them in general around Foley. Having difficulties in your activity, ask your activity instructor! Need help with alpha games challenges? Ask your counselor team leader!
Captains
If your new to Foley, let’s give a quick explanation of captains. They are seasonal counselors but elevated to more of a leadership role at Foley. There is always a boys captain and girls captain who reside in cabins on each end of camp. They pay extra close attention to one specific end of camp, and are great people to reach out to if you have questions about cabin life or need help with something going on with your cabinmates, just like a cabin counselor.
Camper Coordinator
Our camper coordinators are magic! In order to provide the best care and support for our campers, we always have at least one Camper Coordinator on staff. These individuals, who have experience working with kids, are available to help campers who may need extra help at camp. They help with everything from dietary needs to communicating with parents and everything in between. All of these people were an invaluable part of our leadership team, and we could not have done it without them!

Camp Nurse
A Registered Nurse lives on site to care for the health needs of our campers. After the cabin counselors complete a daily health check (recording coughs, scratchy throats, runny noses, etc.), our nurse visits with campers and provides general medical care as needed. She distributes camper medications, comforts, and cares for our campers according to our Standing Orders. If needed, she can transport a camper to local clinics (approximately 15 to 20 minutes away) or to a hospital (45 minutes from camp). We have been so lucky to 5 amazing consistent nurses who have joined us for each summer since 2021!

Assistant Directors
An example would be ME, Ally Daily. I like to describe ADs as the counselors to the counselors. We are there to support the counselors with everything from conflict management, program set up, cabin bonding, and so much more! We can help and step in when cabin counselors feel they need more support in a cabin, and can lend our expertise to certain activities throughout camp. We also take charge of many of the all camp programming. You can come to an AD with any issue, from water skiing questions, to directions to Riflery, and even if you need more toothpaste! We always have your back. We are also experts at keeping homesickness away.
Executive Director Alli
Last but certainly not least, is our owner and executive director of Foley, Alli Faricy. She has held almost every single position in this blog except for Nurse, only lacking the proper degree, as she has definitely patched up her fair share of scraped knees and bloody noses over the years. Alli is our fearless leader and is there to support every camper, counselor, and admin at Foley. She can be found all around Foley, a good indicator of her location is wherever you see her loyal pooch Norm, he is never far behind Alli.
