Along with all the counselors, campers, dogs, ADs, and directors, we have one other very special position at Camp Foley… The Camper Coordinator!
In order to provide the best care and support for our campers, we always have at least one Camper Coordinator on staff. These individuals, who have experience working with kids, are available to help campers who may need extra help at camp. They help with everything from dietary needs to communicating with parents and everything in between. With the changes this summer, we also had a new staff coordinator position. This person assisted with everything from helping make kid’s activity schedules to assisting staff with personal needs. All of these people were an invaluable part of our leadership team, and we could not have done it without them!
I thought it might be fun to shine a spotlight on these awesome behind-the-scenes admin, and see who they REALLY are…
The Mogard Kids!
1. Kate and Mike Mogard
Kate and Mike joined us 1st session this summer, along with their 3 kids, who all attended Foley as campers that session. They are long time Foley alum as well! Both were counselors, with Kate starting 2001, and Mike following in 2002. They were counselors for several years together, and eventually even got married right here at Foley! Their 3 Foley campers are Maisie (12), Henry (10), and Jack (8). We love having the whole Mogard clan in camp!
Krista as a counselor
2. Krista Strobel
Krista also came to help us out during 1st session. She was our first ever Staff Coordinator! Along with helping with all the daily occurrences of camp, Krista also helped organize staff programs and breaks throughout 1st session. Krista is a COMMITTED Foley-ite! She was a camper from 1994 to 2005, and was staff member and Admin for several years after. Krista also helped with some marketing and her all time favorite thing… organizing SIGN UP!
3. Taylor Costas

Taylor came and never left! Just kidding, we wish! Taylor came to help 2nd session and stayed for half of 3rd too, and we love her for it. Taylor is also a long time Foley camper, and started coming to camp in 2001 and continued through 2006. She then went on to be a counselor for 3 years, and then started helping out as a camper coordinator in 2016. As a camper, her mom famously called Camp Foley to try and send Taylor back for another session because she was so afraid she would never get over her “camp-sickness” of missing Foley so much.

4. Beth Foster
Beth came to us 2nd session, and this was her 7th summer as a camper coordinator! Beth has done it all! She has been a camper, a counselor, she was even an anchor award recipient! She is now, like Kate Mogard, a mom to two wonderful daughters who have also attended camp. Her oldest, Clara has aged out, but her younger daughter Kate is poised

to be a CIT in summer 2022. We are so grateful for everything Beth does around camp!
5. Mikka Green

Mikka was here to lend her camping expertise to 3rd session. She came with 4 year old twins in tow, and her older daughter Louise who was a camper in cabin Hiawatha. Mikka filled her role as our Camper

Coordinator and also helped out in our Kitchen, to make sure all our campers were well-fed. Mikka was a counselor at Camp Foley in 2004 and 2005, and then returned to work at camp in many different capacities. It was a blast to have Mikka back last summer, and we loved watching those adorable twins run around too!
A huge thank you to all our Camper Coordinators!! Because of you we had an amazing 2021 summer and we can’t wait for the future!
