We pulled a bit of a prank on April 1st…
There is no new puppy this year at Foley… BUT we have tons of new things that REALLY are coming this summer. Check them out below…
CrossNet
Do you like volleyball? How about four square and nine square? What if you could do a mix of all three? Well, this summer, campers will get the chance to play CrossNet, and do just that! CrossNet is like volleyball, but instead of two sides there are four. This game can be played as individuals or we can expand the net and have four teams compete against each other. The best part about CrossNet… it’s portable! Where do you think campers will play CrossNet this summer, the sand volleyball court, Foley Green, the beach, the lake? The possibilities are endless!
Wilderness Trips
Are you looking to add a little more adventure to your Camp Foley experience? Well, this summer our wilderness trips are back! That’s right, former counselor
and wilderness expert, Aaron Briggs will be leading canoe trips on the Crow Wing River each session. The beautiful scenery of a Minnesota Summer is second to none, and a three-day canoe and camping trip on the Crow Wing River is the perfect way to take advantage of it. See wildlife, make delicious meals over a fire, and learn canoeing and camping skills along the way. All campers who are going into 6th grade and above are eligible for our wilderness trips. Head to our website to learn more about our wilderness tripping program.
New Air Rifles
We are taking our riflery program into the next era, with the addition of air rifles at the riflery range! Air Rifles are used every year in professional competitions, including the Olympics. These new rifles are lighter and less bulky, which means campers can expect to have greater accuracy up at the Rifle Range. The Air Rifles are so accurate that the coach of the USA National Rifle Team said you can “stack one pellet on top of another…over and over again.” We can’t wait to see the results our campers will get with these new air rifles!
New Camp Foley Candle
We have partnered with LYW Candles again this summer, to make a new Camp Foley candle. The new Forest Trails candle will be available soon, stay tuned for updates!
Golf Tee IQ Tests
You may have seen this popular puzzle game at your favorite restaurant before. Well, Mike has created 18 of our very own IQ Tests to have around camp. We can’t wait to see how many of you are able to solve the puzzles this summer!
Evening Programs
Our goal is to start off the first four days of camp with unique and exciting evening programs that will make both new and returning campers say “WOW!” Wolf campers will get the opportunity to do a Giant Board Game Night, play a life-sized version of Hungry Hungry Hippos, make Homeade Tacos or have a Pontoon Picnic, and of course, go on an overnight adventure at either the beach or the treehouses. Although not an evening program, you can also expect to see the Zup Board back at some point this summer!
Coyotes, gear up for Water Wars! Campers will wear a special vest with targets on it that change colors when wet. Armed with water guns, campers will try to soak all the targets on their opponents vests. They will also compete in Minute to Win It competitions, play Battle Ships with the Swamper Canoes, and cook an outdoor breakfast for dinner, in addition to going to the treehouses.
Foxes will get to play a unique game of Slip ‘n Slide Skee Balll; go back to the age of kings, queens, castles, and knights during Medieval Night; and have a Messy Night. During Messy Night, foxes will get to do ice chalking, use washable markers, make soap clouds, and will cap off the night with an awesome evening snack that only is available to the Fox group!
Cabin Challenges
An exciting special day activity this summer will be Cabin Challenges! This summer, during a special day at camp, cabins will challenge each other to games like Soccer, Kickball, Baseball, Water Basketball, etc. Cabins will be able to challenge whoever they want, so get ready for some cabin matchups that are not seen very often at camp. But won’t the older cabins always win? Not so fast! Each game will have certain rules to make it fair, so that every cabin has a fair chance to win! This will be a great way for campers to meet people and form relationships with campers throughout the camp community. May the best cabin win!
The Holiday Spectacular
We have always wondered what it would be like to celebrate all the major holidays at camp, and this year, during our Late Night Adventure, we are going to find out! Christmas, New Year’s, St. Patrick’s Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and more! We are going to light up camp with decorations from different major holidays and have unique festive games to celebrate that particular day of the year. Once the sun goes down, the games will continue with added Glow in the Dark features! This Holiday Spectacular will conclude with an exciting all-camp ball dropping ceremony and a special surprise! Bring your favorite holiday outfits to help celebrate!
Pirate Party
Did you register before October 15th? Then get ready for a Pirate Party! Deck yourself out with swashbuckling tattoos and earn your very own pirate name! Be the only campers to play a brand-new pirate game this summer, Cross Bones, inspired by Koob and Horseshoes. After gaining victory over the other Scallywags, you will get your very own Pirate Tankard (mug), filled with Ocean Water Punch, and receive an empty treasure chest to fill with pirate booty (a variety of snacks)! Avast Me Hearties, Yo Ho!!
We hope you forgive for our little prank and have gotten even more excited for our 2022 summer!!!
