We are excited to announce that Camp Foley has officially joined TikTok! This is something our campers have been asking for, for at least the last 2 years! You can find us on the “clock app” under the name @campfoley !
Now maybe some of you are wondering… what is TikTok? Tiktok is a social media platform for creating, sharing and discovering short videos. The app is used by young people as an outlet to express themselves through singing, dancing, comedy, and lip-syncing, and allows users to create videos and share them across a community. Many different trends pop up on the app, and it uses of different music and sounds to create different trends and viral moments. It has become so popular in large part because the length of the videos cannot exceed 3 minutes maximum, meaning you can consume a lot of content in one sitting. Camp Foley is here to join in the fun and maybe remind you to go outside once in a while.
We went up on Tiktok on Friday November 12th, but had seeded hints to the roll out in our Instagram and Facebook posts the whole week prior. If you check the first word of our posts starting from November 8th and scroll back through to the 4th of November, the first word of each post spells out our secret message, just a bit of fun on Foley social media!
Campers in TikTok Class!
We started with 6 videos, that we think capture most of the different styles of videos that can be found on the app. We were very fortunate that Camp Foley actually had a “TikTok” class 3rd session this summer, headed by counselors Avery, Henrik, and Clementine. They created many different videos with campers that we can now share throughout the year, until next summer comes around and we will have the opportunity to make more.
To encourage you to give our page a visit, let me give you a taste of what you might see… You will definitely see the camp dogs, some awesome camp activities in action, and behind the scenes content at Foley. New videos will be posted every week, so make sure to keep checking back in!
One last thing to mention… THE TIKTOK CHALLENGE
Here at Foley we are all about Camper Input and Camper choice, and we want that to reflect on our TikTok account! We will be issuing TikTok challenges to our campers, so that we can feature all of YOU on our account. The challenges will include things like sending us your favorite camp photos, put a finger down challenges, dance duets, showing off talents, show us your pets, and so much more!
