Things To Do At Camp Foley
A Message From Lilly, 12, Camp Foley Camper
Camp Foley has over 30 activities that campers can try. Each activity period is an hour-long (five activities per day) and is taught by one of our counselors. At Foley, campers choose the activities they want to take for three or four days (an activity signup), and there are four separate activity signups in a three-week session.
On Land
Camp Foley is located on 211 acres of land. It’s the perfect place to get involved in one of our many land activities. Try a high-intensity activity such as Paintball, Riflery or Climbing. Stick with the more traditional sports and sign up for Soccer, Basketball or Tennis. Maybe try something completely new like Archery or Climbing. We’re sure our campers will find a Land Activity they like!
At the Waterfront
Foley offers so many options at the waterfront that we have two waterfront locations on our 1000 feet of shoreline: the Marina and the Swimdock! The Marina is where all of the boating takes place at camp. Campers can try Waterskiing (or Wakeboarding or Wakesurfing), Sailing, Canoeing and more! The Swimdock is located down the shore from the Marina and is where our campers Snorkel and Swim!
Creative Arts
At Camp Foley we really allow our campers to flex their creative muscles. Campers can pursue a variety of creative endeavors such as learning how to play a Guitar, using tools to make something in Woodworking Shop or create something amazing in Crafts.
Leadership
Campers that are going into 9th, 10th, or 11th can be a part of the Camp Foley Leadership program (the Octo Program may be available for those who have aged out of camp and are entering 12th grade). We have LITs (Leaders in Training) and CITs (Counselors in Training) that learn Life Skills, Professional Skills, and participate in Personal Growth Workshops. They will also have the opportunity to lead in various ways within our camp community. Campers entering 11th grade can also be in our Activity Apprentice program that allows campers to learn to teach an activity and gain personal skills above and beyond the norm in a focused area.
Wilderness Trips
Campers 11 and older have the opportunity to go out of camp on Wilderness Trips. Our Trips include: Backpacking, Biking, Canoeing and Outpost Trips. Campers are taken to local state parks, rivers, state land or camp-owned offsite property for camping trips. Most Camp Foley trips are one to three nights long, but we also have day trips that are offered throughout the session.
