Campers often say Camp Foley is one of the most important places in their life – a second home. We believe that summer camp can be an integral part of the development and education of kids and offers skills that you may not even know exist until much later in life. This is a difficult thing to put a price tag on and although camp is a business it is also a culture and community.
Over the last 10 years, we have found three things are true:
- The cost of running summer camp has continued to rise AND
- The generosity of our camp community has grown with campaigns such as Camp Moves Me adding money to our scholarship fund AND
- Our belief that all kids should experience summer camp has been further strengthened by the need for well being and mental health supports for kids.
Because of this, Camp Foley has instituted “option pricing” to ensure that families can find a place for Camp in their budget and assist us in navigating our increased cost to operate. Please consider selecting the highest option that your family can afford to allow us to utilize this funding to ensure the quality of each camper’s experience. All campers receive the same experience no matter what you pay, and your selections are confidential.
*Option A: Most accurately reflects the true and actual cost of operating camp, including wear and tear on equipment, planning for future development, up keep of our 100-year-old facility and expenses for operation including food, utilities, taxes, and salaries for staff. These rates are similar to summer 2024.
*Option B: A partially subsidized rate.
*Option C: A subsidized rate that will allow for more families to enjoy Foley who may otherwise not been able to, thus strengthening the extended Foley Family.

What is the best length of camp for my camper?
2 Weeks: This is a great option for kids (or parents) who are a little hesitant about the camp experience. 2 weeks allows your camper to get their feet wet at camp, try some activities and get a taste of our special programming. Campers start building independence by living away from home and forming relationships. 2 weeks is also a great option for busy families, who are trying to pack in sports, vacations, or summer school, yet still want a camp experience.
3 Weeks – MOST POPULAR OPTION: We offer 2 different 3 week sessions. This 20 day session allows campers time to settle in and start a routine in the first few days and still get a solid two weeks of premium camp experience. More days = more time for creative programming, skill development in activities, and the option to participate in our 3-day camping trips. . Campers that are going into their Junior Year of High School also can participate in the CIT program during these sessions.
5 Weeks: We heard your feedback! With no option for 4 weeks over the last couple of years, some campers have missed the chance to spend more time at camp, as well as the between session excursions (North Shore Trips and Brainerd Adventures). Our 5 week session combines the first two sessions of the summer, and includes a wilderness trip between sessions.
6 Weeks: We have had several campers enjoying a 6 week camp experience with time in between sessions to either go home or see friends for a couple days. This option allows campers to attend the two three-week sessions back to back. We hope we can continue to grow our pod of 6 week campers!
We want to talk to you! Call (218-543-6161) or Email us to chat about what is best for your family. Or set up a zoom call with an Assistant Director or Director!

Waitlists and Full Sessions
If there is a waitlist started for a session you wish to attend, please call the camp office. Sometimes the waitlist is only for a specific age group, and you may be able to join that session. Typically, we get movement on the waitlists in late March when our higher cancellation fee kicks in. There are no guarantees, and we will notify you as soon as a space opens. In the meantime, register for an alternate session. Full deposits will transfer from one session to another.
If a session is filled and your friends are registered without you, try convincing your friends to attend a different session, or come to camp on your own! Many campers come to camp without a friend and end up creating lifelong friendships. Camp Foley counselors are great at helping campers meet new people and make new friends.
