There is something pretty special about knowing your kid has a summer adventure waiting for them. Maybe they are already counting down the days until they return to Camp Foley, or maybe this will be their very first summer away from home. Either way, now is the time to start planning!
Summer 2027 registration opens October 1st, and families who complete their camper’s application and secure their spot before November 1st will become official Camp Foley Early Birds.
What does that mean? A little less stress for parents, a lot more excitement for campers, and an invitation to a pretty fun party at camp. Here are five reasons to get your application in early.
1. Secure Your Spot
Camp Foley summers fill up, and some sessions can reach capacity before you know it. Registering early means you can choose the session dates that work best for your family and secure your camper’s place before the summer planning rush begins.
Whether your camper is dreaming about returning to their favorite cabin, spending another summer on Whitefish Lake, or trying camp for the very first time, getting registered early is the first step toward making those plans a reality.
2. Have Peace of Mind
There is a lot that goes into planning a summer. Between school, sports, family vacations, and everything else on the calendar, it can be easy for camp registration to slip down the list.
Getting your application completed now means one less thing to worry about later. You can check camp off your to do list, know your camper has a spot, and spend the rest of the year looking forward to all the fun that is coming.
And let’s be honest, there is something satisfying about getting summer plans figured out while everyone else is still deciding what they are doing next weekend.
3. Surprise Your Camper With a Later Reveal
Want to earn some serious parent points? Register early and keep it a secret!
Imagine wrapping up a camp sweatshirt for a birthday present, putting a Camp Foley sticker on the Christmas tree, or surprising your camper with the news that they are heading back to their favorite place on earth.
For first time campers, you could even create a little countdown or scavenger hunt leading up to the big reveal. The possibilities are endless, and the excitement of knowing a summer adventure is waiting can make the winter months a little more fun.
Just make sure you can keep the secret. We will leave that part up to you.
4. Register Early With a Little Extra Flexibility
We know that life happens, and sometimes plans change. That is why Camp Foley offers TAP, our optional Tuition Assurance Program.
When you register, you have the option to add TAP to your enrollment. It protects your camp tuition if you need to cancel for any reason before the start of camp. Your camper could get sick, your family could have an unexpected emergency, your child could decide they are not ready for overnight camp, or they could simply receive an opportunity they cannot pass up. With TAP, you do not need to provide a reason to cancel.
TAP is not the same as traditional trip cancellation insurance. It is a cancellation fee waiver program that gives you additional flexibility with your camp investment. Depending on when you cancel, a portion of your tuition payments may be retained as a credit toward a future camp session for your child or a sibling, with the remainder refunded.
The TAP fee is nonrefundable and must be selected and paid at the time of enrollment. For a 2 or 3 week session, the fee is $300. For a 5 week session, the fee is $600.
The important thing to know is that TAP must be purchased when you enroll. You cannot add it later, so be sure to select it during registration if you want that extra protection.

5. Get Invited to the Early Bird Party at Camp!
This might be our favorite reason to register early. Every camper who registers before November 1st gets an exclusive invitation to our Early Bird Party at Camp Foley. Think of it as a VIP event just for our early birds, complete with a tropical theme, special snacks, a take home prize, temporary tattoos, and a limbo contest. What more could a camper ask for?
This is one of those Foley traditions that campers look forward to all year. In fact, some parents tell us their kids start bugging them in October because they would be heartbroken to miss the party. We cannot blame them!
