Starting in the 80s, Camp Foley has hosted a session at the very end of the summer was called Family Camp, and . What is Family Camp? Well it’s exactly what it sounds like, Summer camp with your family!
If you’ve never been to Camp Foley as a Camper this is your chance to experience first hand all the stories your children have been telling you! When coming to family camp, you get to be a camper either “again” or for the first time. I’m going to go ahead and tell you five reasons why you will love family camp.
Be a Camper
The first and main reason, as stated before, you get to be a camper! If you’ve never been to summer camp before, here is your chance to experience everything you thought it would be! From the moment you step onto camp property you get to be a camper. Wake up calls? Well just don’t be late for breakfast! Activity sign up? You bet? Having staff there to help/teach you some new activities? We wouldn’t have in any other way! Not acting like an adult? Well please behave but release your inner child! What better way to let loose a bit than turning back time and become a camper one more time?!?!
Real Family Bonding
Now we are going to hit you with some warm and fussy feely stuff..the second reason to come to Family Camp is Family Time! Summers can be busy and this is the best time to slow down (just a little) and spend time with your family. Nearing the end of summer, right before the non-stop school year begins, you get the chance to stop and regroup with your family. From activities together to meals together, Family Camp can be the perfect time to bond a little more!
The Activities
The third reason you’ll love family camp is the opportunity to see who in the family really is the best at archery? (or any activity for that matter) There is no better way to bring the family closer together than a little competition. This third reason is the simple opportunity to see first hand all the activities your children talk about. Getting to climb the climbing wall next to dad or mom is just the cherry on top to an already great summer. So with all joking aside the third reason is getting to experience a small taste of the things your children get to during their time at camp.
Meet more of the Foley Family
Coming in at number four (even though there is no particular order to these) is the chance to meet new people and create new Friendships. While at Family Camp you never know who you’ll meet, from being at the waterfront to sitting down for meals, you’ll be sharing time together. The cool thing about this session is that Family Camp is open to all sorts of people, coming from all over the place! So sign up, lace up those shoes and get ready for a fun filled weekend!
No Planning Required
From being a camper one more time, to meeting new friends and family time… what could top that?? Well let me tell you what tops those….You DON’T HAVE TO COOK!!!
Well, maybe you’ll have to roast your own hotdog, but other than that all your meals will be cooked for you! There is no need to stop at the grocery store or pack the portable grill, everything you’ll need is right here at camp. Although you will need to bring a water bottle! Is there anything better than getting out of bed, walking to the dining hall and having breakfast ready for you? There is no worrying about planning out your activities and making sure you have time to cook lunch, during Family Camp all you have to worry about is having a fun time during your activities. I’d like to also add that there will be snack time as an added bonus!
